RebelDot, a software development company from Cluj, concluded the year 2023 with revenues exceeding €11.6 million (group level), marking a 40% increase from the previous year. The accelerated growth in 2023 was primarily due to the expansion of its AI segment and an increase in customer referrals, with RebelDot achieving a customer NPS of 91.2%, ranking it among the top 1% of global tech companies.

RebelDot anticipates maintaining its growth pace in 2024, projecting revenues over €15 million, driven by the expansion of its AI component in projects, technological partnerships for comprehensive solutions, and the strengthening of its presence in Denmark, the UK, and the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland).

“This year, we are placing even greater emphasis on AI, on solutions powered by artificial intelligence, continuing our commitment in this direction, following the acquisition of Steepsoft AI, in order to provide our partners with a competitive edge in a dynamic global market,” says Tudor Ciuleanu, CEO of RebelDot. He notes that RebelDot's AI solutions encompass Generative AI, Computer Vision, and Data Engineering, with significant expertise in Manufacturing, Energy, Financial/Insurance sectors. “The AI segment now represents up to 10% of RebelDot's total business, but it is the fastest-growing sector. In 2023, this segment witnessed a 150% growth within the company, with the AI department now handling 2.5 times more business than at the time of Steepsoft AI's acquisition, 10 months ago. It's been gratifying to see that, although we did not seek national clients, numerous Romanian companies approached us this year for AI consultancy and services”.

The company's plans for 2024 include opening new positions, focusing on maintaining high standards for working conditions and organizational culture. Since the beginning of the year, RebelDot has hired over 25 individuals. The company retains its second-place position in Romania's Best Places to Work and fifth in Europe, thus being recognized as one of the top employers in Romania for the second consecutive year.

Best Places to Work is an international HR certification program that allows employers to gain insights into employee engagement and satisfaction and honors those providing an outstanding work experience at the highest standards concerning the work environment.

For the current year, RebelDot aims to scale its current partnerships and client base while maintaining service quality, along with refining internal processes, increasing employee engagement, and upholding its organizational culture.

“Currently, we deliver projects for about 240 people, 80% of whom are employees of RebelDot and Steepsoft AI, with the rest being local collaborations. Last year, we welcomed about 50 new team members, and we continue to attract valuable individuals in 2024. We will invest in defining and refining internal processes that help us reach the next level of growth without diluting our organizational culture. We constantly seek feedback from our team and adapt in such a way that we remain both a reliable partner for our clients and a great place to work,” further adds Tudor Ciuleanu.

The increase in employee numbers is supported by plans to double the office space in Cluj-Napoca by early 2024 and by expanding the company presence in the UK and Denmark, alongside enhancing its service offerings. This involves integrating AI components in more projects and additional skills necessary to become a one-stop-shop for companies needing a dedicated tech partner. The company also aims to expand its team in Business Analyst area, with experts in key verticals, grow its data engineering department, and enhance its IoT and IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) skills.

RebelDot's development strategy is based on the company's commitment to adopting sustainable practices. At the end of last year, the company received the Silver Medal from EcoVadis, the largest and most trusted global provider of business sustainability ratings, placing RebelDot in the top 25% of companies worldwide that apply sustainable practices in every aspect of their operations.

The EcoVadis evaluation was based on the analysis of four main components: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The EcoVadis Silver certification validates RebelDot's efforts to build a company with a solid reputation, a sustainable future, and the importance of responsible business practices.
