In order to find out Europeans' travel habits in the summer of 2024, Kiwi.com, a leading travel tech company, has ordered a survey conducted by Stem/Mark. The company is also delighted to announce the selected duo from Romania who will travel the world for four weeks as this year's World Travel Hackers - Alexandra and Andreea Stroia.
Amid the just-ended World Travel Hackers competition, the survey results reveal that out of the respondents from Czechia, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Romania, and Spain, our compatriots ranked on top in their willingness to take off from their work or studies to travel for four weeks with the given budget of 10.000 euros without even knowing their exact destination—a staggering 66.8%.
The selected duo from Romania is made of two sisters, surprisingly so as the results of the survey conducted by Stem/Mark for Kiwi.com show that 73.9% of Romanians would prefer to travel with their life partner, while only a very small percentage of 5.7% would choose their parent, and another 12.5% would travel with their colleague. In Poland, for example, 58.2% have chosen their partner, while in Spain the percentage is at 59.1%. The data for the survey were collected in May 2024, within a study completed by STEM/MARK for Kiwi.com. The target group is formed by 3033 respondents aged 18 - 37, who will go abroad at least once this summer, from Romania (n=506), Czech Republic (n=505), Slovakia (n=506), Hungary (n=505), Poland (n=505) and Spain (n=506). The used method is Computer Assisted Web Interview (CAWI).

In recent years, the digital nomad lifestyle has been getting a lot of attention, allowing people to work and travel and enjoy flexibility while doing so. And Romanians make no exception: results from the survey ordered by Kiwi.com show that 62.3% of Romanians stated that traveling the world and getting paid would be the ultimate summer job for them. Spain comes in close at 59.7%, while the lowest percentage is registered in Poland, where 51.7% of people would prefer to travel and get paid for it during summer.
