Carrefour Romania officially inaugurates two Carrefour hypermarkets in Constanta: one store is located in the City Park shopping center, and the second store is located in the Brătianu district. Following the integration of the large format Cora stores into the Carrefour universe, the retailer's hypermarket network reaches 57 stores opened nationwide, three of which are located in Constanta. The hypermarket is the first format that Carrefour launched on the Romanian market in 2001 and plays a significant role, offering the most varied range of products, addressing all categories of customers. The network expansion is part of the company's omnichannel strategy.
Located in the City Park shopping center, Alexandru Lăpușneanu Boulevard 116C, Carrefour City Park is open from Monday to Sunday, from 07:00 to 23:00. It has a sales area of over 5,000 square meters and supports the development of the local community with 146 jobs.
The Carrefour Brătianu store is located in the Supernova shopping center, 2 Cumpenei Street, and is open from Monday to Sunday, from 07:00 to 23:00. The hypermarket has a sales area of approximately 6,000 square meters and is operated by a team of 163 people.
"We are reaffirming our commitment to offer Romanians the best portfolio of products and services, completing our hypermarket network by opening two Cora stores under the Carrefour brand in Constanța, a strategic city for this part of the country. Carrefour Romania aims to be a reliable partner for the local community, offering more than just a great shopping experience to Constanta residents. Our customers will find a generous selection of over 43,000 products in the new stores, including well-known products from Dobrogea, from local suppliers, as well as a host of international delicacies," said Crinu Aldea, Integration Project Director, Carrefour Romania.
Customers have access to an extensive range of Romanian wines from the Deschidem Vinul Românesc program, created by Carrefour to support Romanian producers from all wine regions of the country. Wines such as "Caii de la Letea Geneza Aligo" and "Mysterium Sauvignon Blanc" can be discovered by lovers of local flavors in the Wine from Your Region category. Alongside them, wines entrusted only to Carrefour shelves through the Exclusive selection (such as "Tectonic" or Domenii Cotnari limited edition, "Fetească Netească Neagră Rose" and "Grasă de Cotnari") are available, as well as gastronomic wines appreciated by specialists and sought after by connoisseurs, from the Premium range.
In addition, the stores also offer Carrefour's own-brand products: affordable (Simpl), medium (Carrefour Classic or Essential) and premium ranges (Drag de România, Filiera Calității Carrefour, Carrefour Bio, Carrefour Selection). For a complete shopping experience, customers can also find (inter)national brand products and brands developed in partnership with 260 Romanian producers on Carrefour shelves.
In addition to products from the Carrefour universe, the stores also offer products from the former Cora range, appreciated by customers for their outstanding quality. An example for Carrefour Brătianu is the traditional butchery, where customers can buy freshly sliced pork and beef products, carcasses of Romanian origin.
Customers can also choose from a variety of prepared or smoked local products. In both Carrefour hypermarkets inaugurated today in Constanta, the traditional bakery and confectionery assortment will continue to be available, with products prepared by Carrefour professionals.
As for non-food products, the offer includes items from the world of cooking (household appliances, crockery), hygiene products or products for the home or garden, cosmetics, as well as toys, books and school supplies.
In addition to the established services available in Carrefour hypermarkets (PayPoint, bill payment or vignettes), customers can also benefit from options such as the BT Direct shopping card, the consumer finance division of Banca Transilvania, which gives them 5% cashback on the value of all purchases made by paying in full in-store and online, on Carrefour.ro. The KIWI insurance sales vending machine is also available at Carrefour Brătianu.
An omnichannel shopping experience
In line with its omnichannel vision, Carrefour is continuing its mission to become the number one choice for customers by developing its national network of stores in all formats: Hiper, for the complete experience in weekly shopping sessions; Express, for the speed and personal character of a convenience store; Market, at the intersection of the first two formats, with a focus on freshness, speed and proximity; and Supeco, the discount format.
The Act for Good Carrefour universe - available in the new physical store or directly in the customer's pocket via the mobile app
As part of its remodeling process, Carrefour is extending the benefits of the Act for Good program to its new stores in Constanța. Available on the Carrefour app, customers can earn loyalty points that can be used as currency to benefit from discounts, various experiences and the opportunity to support the community through good deeds.
Moreover, from July 11, customers will be able to access the products in the physical store not only through the app and the carrefour.ro website, but also through the partner platforms BRINGO, Glovo and Tazz. BRINGO, the first Romanian personal shopping platform that makes deliveries from 90 minutes, to 30 or even, in record time, in 15 minutes, offers a universe with multiple options, from which customers can choose how they prefer to take possession of their purchases, with delivery directly to their home. At the same time, from the Hypermarket section of the Glovo app, customers can select the desired products from Carrefour Constanta stores, and Glovo will deliver them to the indicated address in less than 60 minutes. Moreover, from the Supermarket section of the Tazz application, customers can select the desired products from the hypermarket, and Tazz will deliver them to the indicated address in less than 60 minutes.
Caring for the environment and the community
Carrefour is bringing the entire recycling infrastructure for PET, aluminum and glass packaging closer to the people of Constanta as part of the Guaranteed Return System, the largest selective collection program in the country. The system translates into a reward-for-good mechanism made out of respect for the environment. For each drink with the "Packaging with Guarantee" logo purchased, customers will pay a deposit of RON 0.50, which they can then recover physically at the cash registers or digitally by scanning the recycling vouchers issued by the collection equipment using the Carrefour app.
Moreover, as a permanent system, customers who bring containers of used oil to the new store will receive rewards, according to a very simple mechanism: for every 4 liters of used oil, Carrefour offers customers 1 liter of fresh oil in exchange.
