Sameday announces acquisition of Pactic Group from Hungary

Business Forum
Sameday, the courier company that introduced easybox delivery to the Romanian market, continues to develop its regional delivery infrastructure and announces acquiring a new Hungarian company – Pactic Group. Following the expansion of its out of home delivery infrastructure in Hungary, this new transaction aligns with Sameday's strategy to create an open delivery area in the region and improve its presence in both the Hungarian and Bulgarian markets.

With the acquisition of Pactic Group, Sameday Group improves its services for customers engaged in cross-border deliveries, expanding its service coverage in multiple European markets. Thus, after the transaction is finalized, Sameday's clients will have access to complete delivery services that enable them to deliver across the entire region at parameters that enhance their competitiveness.

Founded in 2010, Pactic Group is a multi-brand platform that offers services to e-tailers and SMEs active in online commerce. Through its courier services resellers, Allpacka and Furgefutar, which are integral parts of the group, individual users can compare and access national and international delivery services with just a few clicks. Additionally, Pactic facilitates the complete outsourcing of logistics processes and delivery, handling approximately 3.5 million deliveries in 2023.

Headquartered in Budapest, Pactic Group has around 40 employees and recorded a turnover of around 15 million euros in 2023.

"We believe in borderless delivery services that provide customers with the same high-quality experience, whether in Romania, Hungary, or Bulgaria.  Acquiring the Pactic Group is another step in Sameday's plan to improve its presence in the region. We remain committed to reaching 8,500 delivery points in the three countries we operate in by the end of the year, through new easybox units as well as the introduction of shop-in-shop solutions," says Lucian Baltaru, CEO of Sameday Group.

In April, Sameday announced its intention to acquire the Hungarian courier company Sprinter. Following approval from the relevant authorities, the transaction was finalized in June. Sameday and Sprinter customers, as well as new online stores choosing the courier company's services, have access to a unified technological infrastructure tailored to the needs of modern commerce, starting September.

Sameday delivered nearly 100 million parcels regionally in 2023 and is the first Romanian courier company to expand operations beyond national borders. Sameday Hungary was launched in 2020, followed by the Bulgarian branch in 2022. Since then, the number of online stores opting for cross-border shipping services has doubled, recording a 106% increase in 2023.

The total planned investment by the Sameday Group for 2024 is over €60 million, half of which will be directed towards increasing delivery capacity by expanding the out-of-home network.

Sameday is the regional courier company that has experienced the most spectacular growth in recent years, currently ranking among the leading players in its market segment. With 17 years of experience in the Romanian market, a team of over 5,000 employees and partners, and an integrated digital infrastructure, the company operates in Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria. Sameday offers both door-to-door delivery services and deliveries to over 5,000 easybox lockers. Thus, Sameday operates the most extensive locker network in the region.
