Hesburger, the largest fast-food chain in Finland and a famous brand all over Europe, has opened its sixth restaurant in Romania, in Mega Mall, following an investment of 500,000 euro, reaching an €1.5 million investment in Bucharest. The new location creates 20 new jobs.
"We continue our expansion strategy and are opening a new restaurant in Bucharest, this time in a shopping center frequented by residents of one of the most densely populated neighborhoods of the Romanian capital. We already have a strong presence in the Bucharest metropolitan area, and we continue our plan to open ten restaurants in our first year in Romania," says Ieva Salmela, International Development & Marketing Director, Hesburger.
In May, Hesburger entered the Romanian market with its first restaurant in Râmnicu Vâlcea. By August, the chain had opened a new location in Romania's largest airport, Henri Coandă, in Otopeni, followed by the first Hesburger restaurant in Brăila and two new restaurants in Bucharest, in AFI Cotroceni and Băneasa Shopping City.
Hesburger plans to continue its expansion in Romania and to open a total of 10 restaurants, following an investment of €8 million in the first year of activity.
Hesburger products are recognized for their taste and quality, based on Hesburger sauces, created according to original recipes and produced in its own factories in Finland and Lithuania, and the fact that 100% beef is used for the burgers.
The Finnish company, founded by Heikki Salmela and his wife Kirsti Salmela, started its fast-food business in 1966 in the small town of Naantali. A family business with over 50 years of history, Hesburger now operates in 9 countries and has over 480 restaurants.
Over the years, Hesburger has expanded its restaurant chain internationally and now has 273 locations in Finland, 62 in Lithuania, 54 in Estonia, 52 in Latvia, 32 in Bulgaria, 7 in Ukraine, 2 in Germany and one in Poland. Hesburger employs more than 6000 people in Finland alone, and internationally the total number of employees exceeds 8700.
