The company Rețele Electrice Banat, part of the PPC group in Romania, launches, through the public procurement information system, a procurement procedure for works, worth RON 118.8 million, excluding VAT, for the modernization of the medium and low voltage networks in Nădlac, Arad County.
The works will consist of the construction of two new medium voltage lines that will have a length of 13.5 km and will be supplied with energy from the Semlac transformer station. These works will significantly contribute to increasing the security of energy supply for consumers in the area. On the route of the two lines, a fiber optic route will also be built to facilitate the integration of 18 transformer substations into the SCADA remote control system, of which 14 will be completely modernized given their relocation to new substations and the complete replacement of the equipment.
The low-voltage overhead network targeted by the project, supplied by the 18 transformer substations, will be modernized by replacing it, over a length of 140 km, and in the central area of Nădlac, it will be introduced underground on a length of 16.68 km. Quality analyzers will be installed in the transformer substations in order to have a high degree of monitoring of the quality of the distribution service.
For over 2,700 consumers in Nădlac, the connections will be modernized and the metering groups will be installed at the property limit. These metering groups are part of the National Plan for the installation of smart meters, ensuring a more accurate monitoring of energy consumption but also the connection of users to a smart electricity grid.
These modernization works contribute to increasing safety and improving the consumer experience, giving them access to a modern electricity grid optimized for current needs.
The project has a total value of over RON 122.5 million, excluding VAT, of which the maximum insured value from the Modernization Fund is RON 85.9 million.
The deadline for submitting bids is January 15, 2025, and the works will have a duration of 22 months from the conclusion of the contract.
Rețele Electrice companies operate networks with a total length of about 134,000 kilometers in three major areas of the country: South Muntenia (including Bucharest), Banat and Dobrogea, covering one third of the local distribution market, and develop an investment program to improve the quality of service, safety and performance of the networks and local implementation of the PPC Group's environmental standards. The electricity networks operated by the three Electric Networks companies include 289 transformer stations and over 25,000 transformer substations.
