Holcim Romania has made an investment of over €700,000 in its Stăncești aggregate plant, located in Prahova County, to implement a complex water recycling and purification system.
The investment has enabled the Stăncești plant to reduce its water usage by approximately 80%, achieving high environmental standards.
The plant supplies natural and crushed aggregates for various infrastructure projects, including roads, highways, and bridges, as well as for residential and office buildings in the Ilfov, Prahova, and Dâmbovița metropolitan areas in Southern Romania.
"This investment clearly demonstrates our commitment to developing operations with ambitious goals, including in water use," stated Remus Viscol, Aggregates Director, Holcim Romania.
Currently, 80% of Holcim România's locations are equipped with water recycling systems.
Holcim Romania has invested over €900 million since beginning operations in Romania in 1997.
