Banca Transilvania announces the successful completion of the merger with OTP Bank Romania. BT consolidates its leading position and reaches 23% market share through both organic growth and the integration of OTP Bank. The merger also results for BT in +9% assets, +13% loan portfolio and increased presence in Bucharest and the center of the country.

"Banca Transilvania has a core competence, the rapid and successful execution of integrations of acquired companies. This time, it included a record time integration in just seven months, with a very smooth implementation, made possible thanks to the similarities and synergies between BT and OTP Bank, as well as the involvement of the teams of the two banks. We welcome our new customers, business partners and colleagues," says Ӧmer Tetik, CEO, Banca Transilvania.

  • The welcome offer, comprising products, services and solutions.

BT acquired OTP Bank and the other OTP Group subsidiaries in Romania in 2024 for €347.5m.

Two mergers on the same day in Romania and Moldova

The Banca Transilvania Group has Romania's richest track record in acquisitions and integrations. It now adds to its expertise the fastest integration, completed in just seven months, as well as the experience of two simultaneous mergers in different countries, as Victoriabank, part of the Banca Transilvania Group, marks the merger with BCR Chisinau.

With these two mergers, the Banca Transilvania Group contributes to the consolidation of the Romanian and Moldovan banking markets.
