After issuing more than 18 million certificates in 2024, Namirial, the global leader in trust services and digital transaction management, is expanding its portfolio of solutions available in Romania with the Namirial Wallet platform. This innovative platform is designed to accelerate the adoption of digital identity and integrate trust services into the emerging European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet) ecosystem.

The new system will support organizations in both the public and private sectors that increasingly require reliable, compliant, and scalable solutions to manage, verify, and issue digital credentials credentials.

"At Namirial, we recognize that digital identity is no longer a future concept but an imminent reality reshaping the way business is conducted. Our ambition is to become the world's leading provider of trust services. To drive this transformation, we have assembled a dedicated team, bringing together our top experts in technology, compliance, marketing, and business, with the goal of supporting government entities and companies in banking, transportation, and services in integrating the European Digital Identity Wallet. Our focus is on ensuring security, scalability, and regulatory compliance. This is not just an update—it is a paradigm shift in how individuals and businesses authenticate and trust each other in the digital world. The time to act is now," appoints Max Pellegrini, CEO of Namirial.

The new Namirial Wallet platform integrates innovative tools and features designed to support the adoption of digital identity by offering efficient solutions such as: onboarding with Namirial Wallet Gateway, seamless eSignature integration with eSignAnywhere components, credential issuance with (Q)EAA infrastructure, wallet as a Service (WaaS).

"As a qualified global provider of trust services, Namirial is at the forefront of the new wave of innovation, shaping the future of digital identity and trust services. The launch of our Wallet platform is further evidence of our leadership role in this space, promoting the adoption of secure and interoperable identity solutions. We are excited to leverage in Romania our solid expertise in enrollment solutions and the strong partnerships we have with local financial institutions to help define a national identification scheme aligned to the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDIW). With our advanced technology and proven experience through multiple successfully implemented projects, we are committed to supporting businesses and governments in building a more secure and efficient digital future," adds Adrian Dinculescu, Head of Sales and Service CEE & Managing Director Namirial SRL

Leveraging its extensive experience in integrating various notified identity schemes across the EU, Namirial has enhanced its onboarding solution with the introduction of a Wallet Gateway. This enables optimized integration between digital identity wallets and online services. The solution was successfully tested during the latest interoperability event in Warsaw as part of the large-scale pilot project POTENTIAL and has already passed tests with national digital wallet initiatives. As onboarding processes become increasingly complex, Namirial is making significant investments in an advanced orchestration system. This engine will not only integrate with various digital wallets but also allow the creation of customizable onboarding workflows with multiple identification methods, variable parameters, and diverse data sources. The approach ensures flexibility and compliance with evolving regulations for Know Your Customer (KYC), Know Your Business (KYB), and Know Your Transaction (KYT) processes.

In addition, Namirial's flagship electronic signature solution, eSignAnywhere —recognized as one of the leading global applications for digital signatures—is now compatible with the digital wallet ecosystem. This ensures an instant and smooth signing experience, supporting multiple signature levels, including Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES) based on wallet authentication. Namirial already serves thousands of enterprise clients worldwide, including numerous multinational corporations, who rely on eSignAnywhere for secure and scalable electronic signature processes.

The technical integration is already completed, and the official release of QES is expected soon, pending regulatory approvals. A pilot phase for QES activation is planned for a select group of customers in the coming months, providing early access to this innovative functionality while optimizing its performance and usability.

Also, Namirial is expanding its offerings by introducing an infrastructure for Qualified Electronic Attestation of Attributes ((Q)EAA), a new qualified trust service under the eIDAS 2 regulation. This solution enables organizations to issue and manage digital credentials with the highest levels of security and regulatory compliance.

Additionally, within the ETSI ESI committee—responsible for developing standards for digital signatures, trust service providers, and other trust services in Europe—Namirial is leading the development of a new standard that will enable more agile and scalable business models. By introducing cutting-edge processes, companies will be able to simplify the issuance, management, and secure monetization of digital credentials while staying ahead of regulatory developments.

To further support the adoption of digital wallets, Namirial is developing a Wallet-as-a-Service (WaaS) offering. Through experimentation with selected customers and pilot projects, the beta version of the Namirial wallet—already supporting Person Identification Data (PID) and Legal Person Identification Data (LPID)—is looking ahead to the future with the European Business Wallet initiative announced by the European Commission in the Competitiveness Compass.

The goal is to provide businesses and governments with the most advanced technology for implementing highly scalable, reliable, and secure digital identity and wallet solutions. Namirial's services and API programs are designed for seamless integration with third-party solutions, enhancing applications with Issuer, Verifier, and ID Wallet functionalities while ensuring interoperability within the digital identity ecosystem.

Namirial is committed to continuous innovation, ensuring that businesses and citizens can adopt the latest virtual identity and trust services seamlessly, paving the way for a more secure and interoperable digital future.

The introduction of digital wallets - for both individuals and businesses - will have a significant impact, revolutionizing multiple sectors by opening up new application scenarios. In finance, it will allow opening bank accounts, secure authentication for online identification and onboarding with verified data such as addresses, professional qualifications or representation rights in KYB scenarios, as well as access to credit score information and authentication for payment approval. In telecoms and utilities, digital wallets will make it easier to register a new prepaid SIM card or prove an address for contractual agreements. In health and insurance, it will be possible to access digital medical records, online prescriptions, certify vaccinations and manage insurance policies. In education, digital wallets will support the achievement of digital diplomas, IT degrees and certifications.
