The new production unit in Berca is one of the four production units specialized in brick production and plays an essential role in ensuring the supply for the eastern and southeastern market of Romania, which represents more than 30% of the total market.

The reopening ceremony took place on Monday, September 16, on the factory grounds, located in Sătuc village, Berca commune, Buzău county.

wienerberger's investment of more than €25 million, using its own funding, in state-of-the-art technology significantly improves the quality of life, ensuring the highest quality finished products, as well as better working conditions for factory employees.

In addition, the bricks produced offer excellent thermal insulation and increased energy efficiency, reflecting the company's commitment to sustainability. The new production technologies at the wienerberger brick factory in Berca reduce carbon consumption and emissions by more than 30%, thus contributing to environmental protection.

The raw materials used are carefully selected to ensure sustainability and minimize environmental impact, thus contributing to the harmonious co-existence between industry and nature.

Adrian Câciu, Minister of Investments and European Projects, welcomed the investment and conveyed the Prime Minister's message: "This factory is an extremely important achievement for our economy, especially during this period. We are in the year with the highest public investments in the country's modern history. Today we are inaugurating a unit that not only has increased efficiency and production capacity but also significantly contributes to reducing carbon dioxide emissions. The innovative products and solutions manufactured here play a crucial role in the construction of so-called NET ZERO buildings, marking an important step towards a greener future in the construction industry."

Radu-Ștefan Oprea, Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, stated: "The greater the production capacity, evenly spread across all areas of Romania, the lower the price of construction materials will be. The more energy-efficient the materials are, and this is happening today here at this factory, the more it means that Romanians will have affordable housing. We encourage such products and the development of companies that manufacture such products in Romania."

The event was also attended by Ionel Dobrița, mayor of Berca commune, Petre Emanoil Neagu, president of the Buzău County Council, Constantin Toma, mayor of Buzău municipality, Lucian Romașcanu, senator and president-elect of the Buzău County Council.
