Achilleas Kanaris took the CEO role of Vodafone Romania on July 1st, 2021 and during his mandate has focused on transforming Vodafone from a telecommunications operator into a leading technology company. Throughout his leadership, Vodafone has become one of the top-tier IoT and ICT integrators in Romania. In addition to turnkey solutions designed for the business environment, Vodafone contributed to Romania's digital transformation by developing the first dedicated government cloud, a revolutionary project aimed at modernizing the public sector's digital infrastructure.
In parallel with the development from a telecommunications company to a technology company, Achilleas Kanaris' mandate is also linked to strengthening Vodafone's position on the telecommunications market, through the intended acquisition of Telekom Romania, progress in the implementation of 5G technology and multiple large-scale projects in both private and public sectors, that have significantly contributed to the acceleration of Romania's digitalization.

Achilleas Kanaris started his career in the consulting and telecommunications industry in the UK. He joined Vodafone in 2009 holding key commercial positions in Greece and then took on the role of CEO of Vodafone Albania, where he successfully led the company's transformation from a mobile-only operator to a fully converged business.
A leader with over 20 years of international experience and more than half in the telecommunications industry, Nedim Baytorun, Consumer Business Unit Director at Vodafone Romania since July 1st 2021, will take over as CEO of the company.

During his current mandate, Nedim Baytorun has been instrumental in transforming the retail infrastructure and delivered a new channels expansion strategy, including digital, reshaping the customer experience and starting the transformation of Vodafone Romania into a Tech Retailer. Under his leadership, the company introduced the EasyTech platform and developed a new TV service with the launch of Vodafone TV+, projects that focus on innovation and an enhanced TV experience for Vodafone customers.
After an international career at Danone Group in Turkey and the United States, Nedim joined Vodafone Turkey in 2013 and has held a number of strategic roles in the commercial and marketing areas. Subsequently, he joined Vodafone Albania as Consumer Business Director, a role in which he coordinated the company's transformation with the Vodafone - Abcom integration. Throughout his presence there, he was involved in major digitalization projects, including the launch of the first digital trading platform on the local market.
His current role as Consumer Business Unit Director at Vodafone Romania will be taken over by Ana Popa, now Marketing Director within the same business unit. With over 10 years of experience within Vodafone Romania and previous roles such as Director Customer Operations, Ana Popa has contributed to the integration of Artificial Intelligence tools into multiple streams of the company and will continue the development of the EasyTech platform with sustained investment in the online and retail experience.
