Iulian Stanciu, the Executive President of eMag, the biggest e-commerce player in Romania, said that Europe has become the target of Chinese exports after the new wave of tariffs announced by the US government on April 2.
Stanciu called for an equal playing field for all retail players operating in Europe, no matter their country of origin, referring especially to Turkish and Chinese e-commerce companies.
"These e-commerce companies evade at least €1 million daily in customs duties alone. Their unfair practices include setting misleading prices, offering false promotions, market manipulation, and data exploitation without adhering to quality standards and product safety regulations," stated Stanciu, according to Agerpres newswire.
The remarks were made during a conference of the Competition Council.
