The French real estate group, Catinvest, announces the consolidation of ElectroPutere Parc as one of the largest retail centres in Oltenia. This is marked by the opening of a new Leroy Merlin store, covering an extended area of 13,500 square metres, and the acquisition of the former Leroy Merlin that will be converted into a 11,000 square metre extension of ElectroPutere Mall. ElectroPutere Parc now features 100,000 square metres of retail space, along with 24,000 square metres of Class A office space and additional amenities such as a premium apart-hotel.

Leroy Merlin, the second-largest player in the Romanian DIY market with 21 stores nationwide, has opened its new space in ElectroPutere Parc, increasing the area by nearly 23% compared to its previous location. The enhanced concept now offers a wider range of products and services in construction, decoration, and gardening, along with 600 new customer parking spaces. This new store was developed by Catinvest under a long-term lease agreement.

At the same time, Catinvest acquired from Leroy Merlin their 11,000 square metres former store to further expand ElectroPutere Mall. This new extension will increase the leasable area by 9,000 square metres, bringing the shopping centre to over 62,000 square metres, including Auchan. This development will attract new international brands, including Primark, which will open its first store in Craiova in 2026, covering an area of about 4,500 square metres.

”At Catinvest, our goal is to continuously develop ElectroPutere Parc into a vital hub for the local community and businesses, offering premium facilities for professional activities, shopping, dining, leisure and hospitality. Since our acquisition in 2016, we have multiplied by 4 the size of ElectroPutere Parc. We are convinced that this thriving location still has huge potential for further development,” stated Bertrand Catteau, CEO of Catinvest Group.

The French real estate group Catinvest also owns and manages several shopping centres in Romania - Orhideea Shopping Gallery, Esplanada Pantelimon in Bucharest, Tom Shopping Gallery in Constanta - as well as in Eastern Europe - Savoya Park in Budapest and Borska Pole in Plzen. Catinvest is also active in France in residential and shopping centres activities. In total, Catinvest owns and manages more than 525,000 square metres of space in France and Eastern Europe.
