Property group NEPI Rockcastle has purchased a photovoltaic project in Arad County, Western Romania and plans to start its construction in early 2025.
The project with a planned capacity of 50MW has been part of the portfolio of local renewable energy group Monsson since 2022. This year, the project secured the construction permit as well as the power grid connection agreement.
Andrei Radu, Group Development Director of NEPI Rockcastle, said the group is analyzing a second location for a new photovoltaic project with a planned capacity of up to 100MW.
Sebastian Enache, Monsoon's Board Member, added that large energy consumers are starting to investment in renewable projects to streamline their operations and this trend is set to continue.
NEPI Rockcastle has developed solar plants with a combined capacity of 38MW in its Romanian retail projects and plans to extend this initiative in its international projects as well.
The group's revenue in the photovoltaic segment totaled €7.3 million in the first nine months of 2024.
