eMAG services created in Romania, launched throughout the region

eMAG recently launched Genius in Bulgaria and Hungary, almost four years after its launch in Romania, to offer all customers in Central and Eastern Europe a solution where they can save time and money with exclusive offers and free shipping. In less than two months, Genius attracted 100,000 users in Bulgaria and 50,000 in Hungary in less than a month. The international launch comes shortly after expanding into 300 new locations in Romania, thus making the advantages of online commerce accessible to a large number of people. In Romania, the service is available in four shopping applications: eMAG, Tazz, Fashion Days and Freshful, and in Bulgaria and Hungary in two applications: eMAG and Fashion Days.

The expansion of Genius in the two countries comes after a period in which customers buy from increasingly diverse categories, from food supplements, skin-cosmetic products, fashion or drinks, for which eMAG has launched a suite of shop-in-shop formats which helps customers to more easily explore the available range. The percentage of customers buying from more than seven categories has increased from 11% to 20% over the past four years.

With the help of the Super Price label, Romanian customers can identify good prices for over 500,000 products. Recently, the Super Price label, which in Romania represents 34% of the sales made on eMAG.ro, was also introduced in Bulgaria and Hungary.

Through the Easy Buy Back program, developed by eMAG together with Flip, customers can purchase new phones online from eMAG, getting cash back for their old devices through Flip. The program is available from this month in all three countries: Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria.

A growing network of proximity delivery points

The launch of Genius for eMAG customers in Bulgaria and Hungary builds on the accelerated expansion of proximity delivery points developed by courier company Sameday. Thus, 8,500 nearby delivery points will be available by the end of this year in Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria, compared to 5,000 at the beginning of 2024.

Modern solutions for smart purchases

Expanding Wallet's flexible financial services is another area where eMAG's investments will focus in the coming year. Today, in Romania, there are over 2 million eligible customers who use at least one payment method in installments: after 30 days, in 4 installments, in 12 installments through HeyBlu. Since April of this year, the financing service in 12 installments has become available for purchases of up to RON 10,000 for almost any product category on the eMAG platform, including products sold by Marketplace sellers.

Twice as many sellers sell on eMAG Marketplace

In the last three years, the number of active sellers on the platform has doubled, reaching 56,000. Also, the number of Romanian traders who export through eMAG Marketplace in Hungary and Bulgaria has doubled to over 12,000 in the last year, and the volume of offers they make available on the eMAG platform amounts to 22.3 million, more than double compared to last year previous.
