The construction of the photovoltaic power plants involved the installation of 24,728 photovoltaic modules on an area of 59,347 m², equivalent to about 8 football pitches, at partner sites in 16 counties.
With a total installed capacity of 11.5 MWp, the photovoltaic power plants produce about 14 GWh of renewable electricity per year, which would be enough to power about 11,600 homes.
The PV power plants provide partner companies with a degree of energy independence and help protect the environment by reducing CO2 emissions by more than 3,200 tons per year.
"We aim to be the preferred partner of companies in Romania, of any size, small, medium or large, for turnkey solutions for energy efficiency and decarbonization. The more than 400 companies that have chosen us so far as their partner for the construction of photovoltaic power plants show that we are on the right track to achieve our goal," says Claudia Griech, Managing Director of E.ON Energie Romania.
For example, for Agricola International in the county of Bacău, one of the most important players in the meat industry, the four photovoltaic power plants built have a total installed capacity of 1,998 MWp and produce 2,288 GWh of renewable energy annually, while saving about 718 tons of CO2 emissions.
For Continental Automotive Romania in Timis County, E.ON has commissioned a 655 kWp installed capacity photovoltaic system consisting of 1,440 panels, which will provide about 715 MWh of renewable electricity annually and reduce CO2 emissions by about 152 tons each year.
E.ON has also built three photovoltaic plants for Agrosel, a company in Cluj county operating in the vegetable sector, with a total installed capacity of 1,146 kWp, which together generate 1.433 GWh of solar energy per year, covering 45% of the company's energy needs.
Currently, the company has 18 other similar projects in the pipeline, with the company offering turnkey solutions designed to match customers' needs and consumption profile.
In the non-residential segment, E.ON Energie Romania's portfolio of photovoltaic generation projects includes more than 392 finalized projects, totaling €74 million. The total production of photovoltaic energy is over 104 GWh per year, and CO2 emissions are reduced by about 23,000 tons each year.
