At the BREEAM Awards 2024 event, held in London, ADP, the market leader in Romania for green building consulting and certification services, won the award for the most sustainable non-residential building, certified BREEAM In-Use in 2022 and 2023, for the project CTP Clubhaus, the community facility in the CTPark Bucharest West industrial park.

On Wednesday, 10th of July 2024, at the Peninsula Hotel in London, the BREEAM Awards 2024 took place. The event celebrates the most important achievements in the design, development and management of sustainable buildings in recent years. In this year's event, CTP Clubhaus, for which ADP provided sustainability consulting and certification services, received the award for In-Use non-residential category.

CTP Clubhaus has a double BREEAM certification, maximum level - Outstanding, both for the design and execution stages, as well as for its operation stage, thus aiming to optimize the sustainability of the building in all its lifecycle stages.

CTP Clubhaus, located in the CTPark Bucharest West industrial park, serves tenants and neighbouring villages/towns by offering the necessary facilities: canteen, cafe, pizzeria, event hall, meeting rooms, medical office, CTP offices, barbecue area, outdoor fitness equipment, recently also adding a sports field, spaces for start-ups in the industrial sector and a Profi grocery store, all surrounded by lush vegetation.

"Industrial parks, which have developed rapidly in recent years, are usually utilitarian spaces dominated by heavy traffic. However, tens of thousands of people sometimes work in these spaces. In this context, the CTP Clubhaus is an energy-efficient building that provides a high level of comfort conditions for its users, with very low water consumption, a green roof and solar panels. But more than that, it is an innovative concept of community facility with many functions and beautiful exterior spaces for its immediate vicinity, which vibrates throughout the industrial park with bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, with tree alignment, creating good quality public space, and to neighbouring villages and towns through investments and environment for business development and job creation. CTP Clubhaus has the power to inspire the entire industrial sector,” says Adrian Pop, ADP General Manager

CTP Clubhaus achieved a score of 94.67%, currently the highest BREEAM In-Use score in the world. The building scored maximum points in the Ecology and Resilience categories and performed exceptionally well in the Water and Health and well-being categories, respectively.

"Located in the largest industrial park in Central and Eastern Europe, Clubhaus has established itself as a game-changer for the logistics space market, being designed as a platform for educational events and a hub for meetings, serving the 2,500 employees working in park as well as the community in the area. The prize for the most sustainable non-residential building in existence won at the BREEAM Awards 2024 proves once again the attention that CTP pays to sustainability and is, at the same time, a recognition of Romania's importance on the international map of green buildings," said Ionuț Puiu, Construction Director CTP Romania.

BREEAM (Building Research Establishment's Environmental Assessment Method) is the world-leading sustainability assessment method for planning projects, infrastructure and buildings for over 30 years. There are over 610,000 BREEAM certified buildings in 102 countries and a further 1.72 million buildings in the process of being certified.

Along with CTP Clubhaus, 300 other projects in Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Italy bear the ADP signature, contributing to a healthy, safe, less polluting and better built environment. Among recent projects in which ADP had the role of sustainability consultant, the Cluj-Napoca Children's Hospital was also nominated in the section dedicated to non-residential New Construction buildings.

In 2021, ADP obtained the Central and Eastern Europe at the same BREEAM Awards event, for the PENNY Otopeni store.

“Embracing science-based sustainability methodologies like BREEAM can deliver significant impacts for businesses, investors and for society as a whole. It is inspiring to see the innovative ways in which sustainability is being fostered and put front-and-centre across all our award winners and wider BREEAM scheme members. We look forward to continuing to drive net zero ambitions across the entire built environment,” says Gillian Charlesworth, CEO al BRE (Building Research Establishment).
