Greenvolt Next to install PPA-backed solar plant in Romania

Business Forum
Greenvolt Next has signed a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Centrul Agro Transilvania Cluj to install and maintain a 550 kW photovoltaic system.

The project will cover one-third of the company's annual energy needs, generating up to 613,000 kWh per year.

The PPA financing solution allows Centrul Agro Transilvania Cluj to access sustainable energy without the need for initial capital or operational risks. After the 10-year contract, the photovoltaic installation will become the property of the company.

This project is expected to generate significant cost savings for the company, estimated at €384,000 over the contract period and up to €1.8 million over 25 years.

“We are pleased to see the positive market reaction to the PPA solution we have introduced,” said Filipe Dias, Country Manager of Greenvolt Next Romania. “Romania is still heavily dependent on conventional energy sources, and therefore the transition to renewable energy sources is crucial.”

"I believe we have chosen the solution that best meets the needs of our business profile, with an ideal mix between the minimal initial investment and the significant benefits in the medium and long term," said the representative of Centrul Agro Transilvania Cluj.

The project also aligns with the sustainable energy development plan adopted by the Cluj County Council, contributing to a reduction in carbon footprint.

Greenvolt Next currently operates in 12 European markets with a signed capacity of over 450 MWp, over 180 MWp installed, and a portfolio of over 2,500 projects.
