About the Fashion Talent Award Applications

Applications open on August 9th and close on September 9th. In the following weeks, the jury will review and deliberate on the submitted proposals, with the eight finalists advancing in the competition being announced in mid-September. These finalists will participate in a workshop led by Andreea Bădală, the creator of the MURMUR brand, where they will have the opportunity to develop their competition pieces alongside an established designer. In this creative workshop, participants will explore new techniques and perspectives in design, working closely with Andreea Bădală to transform their innovative ideas into remarkable creations.

Additional details and the application form are available on the official page www.mbbfw.ro/talent-award.

Participants may submit only clothing items for adults, excluding footwear, accessories, and bridal wear. Eligible candidates include students and graduates of Arts and Design universities in Romania, as well as young Romanian designers with a fashion brand launched within the last three years. The application requires the submission of three sketches illustrating complete outfits and, optionally, a short video presenting the collection's concept.

It is essential that submissions meet the selection criteria, which include originality, conceptual coherence, artistic vision, quality of execution, and the integration of sustainable techniques and materials.

Fashion Talent Award Judging Period and Prizes

After the initial judging phase, eight finalists will be selected. These finalists will have the opportunity to create the three outfits they proposed during the competition's application process and present them at Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week, in front of the jury and the audience.

The winner will be announced on October 18 during the inauguration of The Fashion Talent Gallery at Băneasa Shopping City. The prize includes a financial grant of €5,000 from Mercedes-Benz Romania, a package of three entrepreneurial services of the winner's choice from the Stup Banca Transilvania offer, and six mentorship sessions over six months with Andreea Bădală, the creator of the MURMUR brand.

Additionally, Băneasa Shopping City will showcase the creations of all eight finalist designers in the dedicated space from October 18 to 30.

Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week promises a spectacular edition filled with impressive fashion shows, memorable moments, and unique events. Participants will have the chance to discover the latest fashion trends and interact with renowned designers such as Maria Lucia Hohan, SeenUsers, Rhea Costa, Almaz, MURMUR, Manuri, Carmen Secăreanu, Ami Amalia, and many others. These designers will showcase their newest collections during the Runway Fashion Shows, both on the main stage and at private events, which are one of the three pillars of the event.
