Mondrian Bucharest hotel construction kicks off

Romanian developer One United Properties has announced that construction has kicked off at Mondrian Hotel in Bucharest, with completion expected in 2026. 

The 103-room hotel located near the Romanian Athenaeum will feature smart technologies and environmentally friendly materials. Its design will be managed by Romanian studio Lemon Interior Design. 

“The hotel's bold, modern aesthetics and playful decor will celebrate Bucharest's rich local culture, establishing the Mondrian Bucharest as a visual landmark in the city. We expect this unique hotel to elevate the entire guest journey and local cultural engagement, positioning Bucharest as a special destination for tourism,” says Riad Abi Haidar, Partner and CEO of the Hotel Division at One United Properties. 

The hotel will be operated under an agreement with Ennismore. 

The hotel investment is part of One United Properties' restoration portfolio that includes One Gallery, One Athenee and One Downtown.
