LaDoiPași network tops 3,000 stores in Romania

Business Forum
The LaDoiPași proximity store network, developed by Metro Romania, has opened 100 stores in a single day and passed the 3,000-store milestone nationwide.

The LaDoiPași concept was launched by Metro Romania in 2012 to support local entrepreneurs in their communities. In 2017 the network relaunched the concept around three directions: developing and expanding the network, strengthening commercial competitiveness, and developing the brand. Stores are owned and managed by independent partners, who benefit from consultancy for layout, assortment selection, branding, marketing, digitalisation and dedicated development programmes.

"This is an achievement that speaks to entrepreneurs' trust in this business model and to METRO's proven ability to support the development of entrepreneurship and independent retail in Romania," said Karan Khurana, CEO METRO Romania.

The stores generally range between 60 and 200 sqm and offer between 3,500 and 7,000 products. The assortment combines everyday essentials with local and regional items, and high-traffic locations also feature Food to Go solutions.
