Construction is scheduled to commence at the end of this year, and the facility is expected to be operational by 2027.
With an estimated annual net production of 180 GWh, the wind farm will supply enough renewable energy to power approximately 90,000 households or support around 20 medium-sized data centers.
“This acquisition reflects our constant commitment to actively contribute to the energy transition by developing a diversified portfolio of renewable projects. We are continuing our progress with concrete steps, driven by the ambition to be a reliable partner for our customers, offering sustainable and competitive solutions tailored to their long-term needs,” stated Cristian Buzan, Deputy General Manager of Engie Romania.
This acquisition follows Engie Romania's expansion in 2024, which included the development of its first 57 MW hybrid plant combining wind and solar sources, and the acquisition of an 80 MW operational wind farm.
The company currently operates a total installed capacity of 211 MW from renewable sources, comprising 3 wind farms (178 MW) and 5 photovoltaic parks (33 MW) strategically located across the country.
The company is also set to commission a 37.2 MWp solar plant in Ariceștii Rahtivani, Prahova County.
