Franklin Templeton International Services, the Sole Director and Alternative Investment Fund Manager of Fondul Proprietatea, has announced key management changes effective July 1 2025.

Marius Dan will assume the role of Branch Manager of Franklin Templeton Bucharest Branch. Daniel Naftali and Călin Meteş will be appointed as Portfolio Managers of the Fund. Additionally, Naftali will become the Permanent Representative of the Fund, with Meteş serving as the substitute.

These changes follow the decision of Johan Meyer, the current CEO of Franklin Templeton Bucharest and Permanent Representative of the Fund, to leave Franklin Templeton after 21 years of service.

“We are confident that the exemplary management of the Fund will continue under the proven leadership of Marius, Daniel and Călin, all of whom are longstanding team members of Franklin Templeton and have contributed meaningfully to the success of Fondul Proprietatea,” commented Manraj Sekhon, CIO of Templeton Global Investments.

Dan joined Franklin Templeton in 2011, where he led Fondul Proprietatea's global investor relations and corporate actions, significantly expanding the fund's institutional shareholder base and successfully managing its secondary listing on the London Stock Exchange. He also served as a board member for companies in the real estate and FMCG sectors. Dan holds an MSc. in finance from the University of Wyoming and a summa cum laude BSc. in finance from Wingate University, and has over 18 years of experience in asset management.

During his 15 years with the firm, he oversaw stakeholder interaction for several key fund portfolio companies and served as a non-executive board member for some in the energy, infrastructure, industry, and FMCG sectors. Naftali holds an MSc in International Securities, Investment and Banking from the ICMA Centre, Henley Business School, University of Reading, UK, and a bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest.

He also served as a board member in several state-owned and private companies in the energy, industry, and infrastructure sectors.
