The new investment aligns with Veolia's new GreenUp strategic plan, which aims to accelerate the deployment of green energies - essential and beneficial for the ecological transformation. It will allow Veolia to expand its operations in central and western Romania, improving its ability to serve a wider customer base and efficiently respond to regional energy needs.
The procurement process will take place over a period of five years. In the first phase, Veolia Romania bought 80% of NISAL's shares, with the total takeover expected to be completed by the end of this period. The current management team, which has contributed decisively to the success of NISAL, will remain to ensure the continuity and development of the activity at the local level.
"The acquisition of NISAL is an important step in accelerating project development and scaling our innovative green energy solutions. This move will respond to the growing demand for decarbonization and energy efficiency and will contribute to achieving the objectives assumed in the GreenUP strategic program to ensure a real ecological transformation: decarbonization, depollution and resource regeneration," said Mădălin Mihailovici, CEO of Veolia Romania.
NISAL, founded in 1996, offers complete design, execution and maintenance services of heating and cooling installations for various types of buildings. Initially focused on gas boilers and air conditioning units, NISAL has evolved by incorporating cutting-edge technologies such as heat pumps, shallow geothermal wells and heat recuperators.
With over 80 employees, including engineers, project managers and qualified technicians, NISAL has substantial resources, including three drilling rigs and a 4,000 m² workshop in Mediaș. This robust infrastructure will support Veolia's ambitious green energy projects and ensure progress towards its environmental goals.
"Joining forces with Veolia is a natural evolution for NISAL. Our shared commitment to innovation and sustainability will drive the development of advanced green energy solutions. This strategic partnership will ensure the continuation of the process of innovation and development of the company and its employees", said Cristian Nistor, CEO of NISAL.
