Bianca's creative proposal was selected by Corinthia Bucharest following a competition that attracted submissions from several local artists. Her design stood out due to its ability to reflect the hotel's unique character, defined by Belle Époque accents, and reinterpret the grandeur of Grand Hotel du Boulevard's golden years in a contemporary, minimalist, and discreet style.
Bianca drew inspiration for the new identity from the vibrancy of the Belle Époque era, marked by refinement and elegance. Her work captures the essence of this historical moment when luxury and decorative art were ubiquitous, and art and fashion merged into a shared expression of beauty and human creativity.
“This collaboration offered me a unique opportunity to explore new forms of expression beyond my usual creations. I was inspired by the specificity of the Belle Époque era and the Art Nouveau style, with its fluid lines, to design a character that blends the traditions of decorative art with elements of contemporary modernity. The scenographic setting of the illustration draws from the hotel's architecture. The centerpiece of the work is a character embodying the vibrant energy of the Belle Époque, defined by elegance and refinement, but reinterpreted in a modern, sophisticated, and minimalist manner,” said artist Bianca Olimpia Abăcioaiei.
Bianca's artistic proposal will be integrated into the hotel's branding materials, such as business cards, menus or umbrellas, ensuring a coherent visual identity and an elegant representation of Corinthia Grand Hotel du Boulevard Bucharest.
Corinthia Hotels Group, the operator of Grand Hotel du Boulevard, actively supports local art and culture through initiatives that promote artists in the communities where it operates. This project is part of a series of similar collaborations undertaken by Corinthia, such as the one at Corinthia Brussels, where creations by Belgium's renowned florist Daniel Ost inspired the hotel's visual identity.
“We are delighted to have had the opportunity to work with a talented artist from Bucharest who successfully combined the historic elegance of the hotel with the modern spirit of the city. This collaboration reflects Corinthia's philosophy of supporting and promoting resident talent. We believe that each space represents the essence of its geographic location, and through our partnerships with local artists, we bring a distinct, authentic, and culturally rooted touch,” said Jean Pierre Mifsud, General Manager, Corinthia Grand Hotel du Boulevard.
