In addition, a new aircraft will operate from Henri Coandă Airport from August, bringing the total number of aircraft based in Bucharest this summer to 21.
“Bucharest is of particular importance to Wizz Air, and the airline is delighted to continue its rapid expansion with these new aircraft, while also offering more travel options for this summer season: almost 913,000 seats added to its summer 2025 schedule in Bucharest, a 22% increase compared to the same period last year,” said Wizz Air in a statement, according to news.ro.
Currently, the airline operates 173 routes from 13 airports in Romania, connecting passengers to 71 destinations in 22 countries.
Over the past 18 years, Wizz Air has established seven operational bases at Bucharest Băneasa, Bucharest Otopeni, Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi, Timişoara, Craiova, and Sibiu.
The airline has over 1,500 employees in Romania.
