Romanian leu hits new historic low against euro

The Romanian leu depreciated on Thursday against the euro, which was calculated by the National Bank of Romania (BNR) at RON 5.1417, up 0.8% from the previous rate, recording a new historic low for the local currency.

The leu also lost ground against the US dollar, which was quoted at RON 4.3965, up 0.84% compared to Wednesday.

The national currency depreciated against the Swiss franc as well, calculated by BNR at RON 5.5821, up 1.16% from the previous rate, also recording a historic high.

Gold per gram increased to RON 653.5585 from RON 638.3798 in the previous session.
