The stations will feature two charging points each and will be located in the parking lot near the Departures Terminal. The contract, awarded following an auction held through the Romanian Commodity Exchange on 18 March 2026, has a duration of five years.
"For us, it is a natural step in expanding the national network and an opportunity to offer electric car users modern, fast and easy-to-access services," said Andreea-Dana Popescu, General Director of PPC Blue Romania.
PPC Blue will install the infrastructure in the North parking lot, consisting of seven charging stations of 200 kW each, serving a total of 14 charging points, which must be commissioned by 29 June 2026. The total installed power will be 1.4 MW, with an absorbed power of 1.2 MW. In Romania, PPC Blue operates over 1,100 charging points in all counties, with a total installed power of over 36 MW.
The company plans to continue developing infrastructure in three directions: densifying the charging network in areas where people spend time, investing in balanced infrastructure through fast transit stations and AC charging in residential areas, and integration with green energy and storage solutions. In 2025, drivers who charged at PPC Blue stations drove more than 18 million km, contributing to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 2,945 tonnes per year.
