Superbrands Romania announces champions of brand reputation

Business Forum
Superbrands, a program implemented in Romania by the strategic communication agency BDR Associates, announces the final preparation phase of the 11th edition of Superbrands Romania, 2024-2025. The volume is dedicated to brands eligible for Superbrand status, which the program coordinators invite to share their success stories that have become reputation models through branding culture and practices. Published in over 90 countries globally, Superbrands volumes celebrate commercial and business brands that have built strong reputations among consumers and business partners by investing in reputation, trust, quality, and market differentiation.

For the 2024-2025 edition, the selection of brands was conducted with the support of the Superbrands Honorary Council, composed of 30 esteemed business leaders from various industries, marketing and branding experts, and Ipsos, the official research partner of the Superbrands program in Romania. This collaboration ensures the objectivity of the evaluation process for branding excellence at both product/service and corporate levels.

“The longevity of the Superbrands program in Romania, under the aegis of the global organization, proves the genuine commitment of business sector operators to making reputation a mission and delivering on it as a promise to consumers and business partners. At BDR Associates, we witness unprecedented growth in the value placed on business reputation, a phenomenon gaining momentum annually in Romania. It is particularly encouraging to see Romanian brands beginning to gain recognition in the Superbrands Program, achieving reputational balance with foreign brands in the eyes of Romanian consumers. The Superbrands podium, which BDR has been objectively building for nearly 20 years to honor excellence in branding, is now equally occupied by local and major global brands. I am thrilled to see our pioneering efforts from two decades ago become emblematic in Romania,” said Cătălina Rousseau, President & CEO of BDR Associates and Country Manager of Superbrands Romania.

The new Superbrands Volume, like its predecessors, serves as a declaration of reputational excellence built on fundamental values. The volume will feature a selection of brands eligible for Superbrand status based on universal criteria: reputation, trust, quality, market differentiation, and commitment to sustainability (ESG criteria). The complete list of eligible brands, in both the Consumer and Business sections, will be published in the Superbrands Romania 2024-2025 edition, to be launched in 2025.

A highlight of the program will be the Superbrands Awards Gala, scheduled for spring 2025. As with every edition, the event will bring together branding elites, business leaders, strategic partners, and prominent figures from various fields and the media to celebrate branding excellence and success.

A Global Impact Initiative

Superbrands is a large-scale program globally recognized as the ultimate arbiter of brand performance culture, offering international acclaim to the world's strongest brands. Recent editions of the Superbrands volumes were launched in 2024 in countries such as Poland, Greece, Hungary, Bosnia, Slovenia, Portugal, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, UAE, Angola, Indonesia, and others.

The list of brands eligible for Consumer Superbrand status was compiled using the international Superbrands methodology, encompassing two key stages. In the first stage, the Superbrands Council, comprising 30 professionals from industries such as management, marketing, advertising, communication, branding, media, and consultancy, ensured a qualitative selection of brands listed by Ipsos Romania. They evaluated 1,804 commercial brands across 61 categories, based on reputation, trust, quality, and market differentiation, in line with the global Superbrands methodology. Following this selection, the 968 qualifying brands were included in market research conducted online by Ipsos for Superbrands Romania, involving a representative sample of 1,500 urban Romanian consumers.

Separately, Superbrands Council representatives voted on business brands, considering sustainability (ESG criteria). The full list of brands deemed eligible for both Consumer and Business sections will be published in the Superbrands Romania 2024 edition, set for release in 2025. Brands invited to participate in the program and the Superbrands Book will receive the 2024 Superbrands Stamp, which can be used indefinitely in their promotional campaigns. Additionally, they will be honored with Superbrands trophies at the 20th Anniversary Gala in spring 2025. As in previous editions, the research results, Honorary Council members, and Volume 11 of Superbrands Romania will be published on the global website of Superbrands International.
